SlingPlayer app now available for Honeycomb tablets, priced at $30

It was teased back in September and now, it's finally arrived -- the SlingPlayer Android app optimized specifically for Honeycomb tablets. Available today on the Android Market, Sling Media's latest app allows Slingbox owners to stream TV directly to their slates, and features a new program guide, designed to help users browse content and change channels with greater ease. The SlingPlayer app for Android handsets, meanwhile, will continue to function on tablets in "compatibility mode," without exacting extra charges, though it won't offer the same resolution quality you'll find on a Honeycomb-laced device. Interested parties can grab the app for the familiar price of $30, at the source link below. Otherwise, click past the break for more details in Sling's refreshingly brief press release.

Occupy Boston Site #2Social media marketing agency Attention has turned its attention (groan) to the U.S. protest movement known as Occupy Wall Street, aka #OccupyWallSt on Twitter. According to data revealed today, Twitter is the network of choice for sharing information related to the protests, with 82.5% of the mentions, compared with just 2.8% on Facebook, 0.5% on YouTube and 12.5% on personal blogs. German video effects company builds camera drone for the Red Epic

Red Epic + Flying drone = The sort of geek math you can't help but wish you'd come up with yourself. German VFX company OMStudios decided to mount Red's super-camera into a custom Octocopter to record footage in resolutions up to 5K. As cool as the setup is, there's a practical purpose: not only is it far cheaper than renting a crane, it can also climb up to 150 meters -- making it just high enough to fly over Hollywood's tallest man, Tom Cruise. Since it's highly unlikely we'll ever get to play with one of these, we'll just have to point you to the video after the break and hope that no catastrophic power failures take place halfway through any real-world shoots.

[Thanks, Jeremias]
